Service Offerings:

NSF/ANSI Standard 61 (NSF-61) is a national standard that establishes stringent requirements for the chemical properties of products that come in contact potable water. The test varies based on the type of product to get an accurate assessment of health effects of product use. If a product is used in North America for the purpose of potable water use, it is required to comply with the standard. Third party certification is now required with most states as well. Truesdail combines a state of the art testing facility with a wealth of experience and analytical expertise to ensure compliance and certify products.
For years lead content in products intended for potable water was covered in NSF 61-G, however as new regulations from states such as Vermont (Act 193) and California (AB 1953) arose, the need for a separate standard monitoring lead content in product intended for potable water filled by NSF/ANSI 372. NSF/ANSI 372 evaluates the weighted average lead content of a product, setting the criteria at .25%. Truesdail is pleased to offer this service to ensure a manufactured product is free of lead.
Protecting the environment and conservation of water are the premises of this program. As an EPA WaterSense® partner, consumers will be able to see a manufacturer’s commitment to the environment, promoting a better and more sustainable future. Current types of product compatible for this type of testing are high-efficiency lavatory faucets, tank type high-efficiency toilets, flushing urinals, and showerheads.
Often plumbing manufacturers demonstrate the quality with a series of standards meant to put product engineering to the test. Truesdail offers a wide spectrum of mechanical standards designed to show consumers a product goes above and beyond. These standards in combination with health effects testing give the consumer confidence that every manufacturer needs. For a full list of mechanical standards offered please contact Mr. Javier Robles.
